PUTNAM COUNTY CELEBRATES AMERICA'S 250TH ANNIVERSARY
Reenactors are going to bring Revolutionary History to life on Saturday, June 6 at Putnam County Veterans Memorial Park.
Three CCSD Teachers -- Rob Buccheri, Keith Reilly and Denise Santalis -- have been working hand-in-hand with former governor George Pataki, George Whipple, Putnam County Historian Jen Cassidy and the living History Education Foundation with the 5th New York to make the 250th on June 6 amazing!
The Choir of Carmel High School will be among the performers. See Attached Schedule of Events.

Calling all freshmen with big questions and bold ideas — the Carmel Science Research Program is looking for you! This 3‑year program lets students:
- Explore a topic THEY choose
- Work with real scientist mentors
- Conduct authentic research
- Compete in local, state, and national science competitions

YEARBOOKS
2026 Yearbooks will be for sale during homeroom until they are sold out. Cost is $60. Yearbooks will be distributed after June 12th (on June 12th at the BBQ for 8th grade only). 8th graders DO NOT get a free yearbook, if you want a yearbook you must purchase it. There are a limited number of yearbooks remaining and when they are gone, they are gone. Please purchase your yearbook as soon as possible to avoid disappointment!

Tiny Treasure Hunters - Wednesday, 7/8 @ 2 PM for ages 5 and up. Young explorers become junior archaeologists as they dig through mock excavation sites filled with hidden treasures and ancient “artifacts.”

Meet "Anne Fischer Miller" Friday, July 10 at 11a.m. Recommended Ages: 10 and Up.
Step into Revolutionary-era Westchester as Cynthia Kauffman portrays Anne Fisher Miller who will shares what it was like to live in the dangerous “Neutral Ground” during the Battle of White Plains, while her husband and sons were away at war. In period dress, she recounts visits from George Washington, explains how her home became a field hospital and church, and demonstrates the everyday essentials used by soldiers and camp followers.

Meet "Dr. Joseph Warren" Wednesday, July 15th at 6 p.m. Recommended Ages: Teen and Up. Michael Baker reenacts the life of Dr. and Major General Joseph Warren, a key leader at the start of the American Revolution who helped ignite revolutionary spirit throughout the Colonies. Hear how he inspired the Patriots in Boston, sent Paul Revere on his famous ride, and was killed at the Battle of Bunker Hill before he could see the United States Declaration of Independence become reality.

Meet Hulda: The Witch of the American Revolution, Saturday, August 8th at 11 a.m. Recommended Ages: 10 and Up. Storyteller Carla Lynne Hall shares an updated telling of Mother Hulda of Bohemia, a legendary woman said to have lived in Sleepy Hollow during the 1770s. Mentioned in Edgar Mayhew Bacon’s 1897 book Chronicles of Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow, Hulda was feared as a witch for her healing and basket-weaving skills, yet celebrated as a Revolutionary War sharpshooter.

Teen Art Takeover with Hudson Valley Inter Arts Fridays in July & August from 2:00-4:00. Grades entering 6th-12th. A 6-week hands-on art series filled with creativity, inspiration, and fun as talented artists lead exciting Friday workshops where teens can explore new techniques, express themselves, and create amazing art. Plus, participants will enjoy a special field trip to Hudson Valley Inter Arts in Patterson, NY for a bonus Digital Arts class!

The annual Mess Fest (www.MessFest.org), taking place on Saturday, August 1, is a true celebration of kids being kids in honor of those who can't, while supporting a worthy cause, the Ty Louis Campbell Foundation to help provide better treatments for children with cancer. This is a family-friendly day filled with smiles, laughter, and pure joy.
