Global 9 - Ms. Tornatore
Course Description
Over the course of the school year, we will be studying the first half of the Global History curriculum. This course organizes world history chronologically from the Neolithic Era to absolutism. There is an emphasis on analytical skills and inquiry based learning around themes including: cultural diffusion, conflict, trade, geography, belief systems, change and interdependence.
We will spend the final week of the course reviewing. The final exam will be cumulative and created by the 9th grade team. It will count as 10% of their final average. The NYS Global History Regents Exam next June will not formally assess their knowledge of 9th grade material, however, they are allowed to use the content. Passing this course is a requirement for graduation.
