Welcome to Math Finance Applications, Period 9 with Mrs. Vest
General Curriculum:
Students will learn to apply math skills to a variety of real life situations. Unit topics covered include the following: Earning Money, Buying Food, Shopping for Clothes, Managing a Household, Buying and Maintaining a Car, Working with Food, Improving Your Home, Traveling, Budgeting Your Money, Banking and Investing, Paying Taxes and Preparing for Careers.
Grading:
Classwork/Homework: 35%
Effort Commitment/Attitude: 5%
Quizes/Exams: 60%
Students will have the opportunity to earn extra points by completing review packets prior to exams. Class projects will also be assigned that will count as exams.
Things to bring to class:
Please always have a pencil. While I have calculators, you are welcome to bring your own. A pocket folder or loose leaf section is important to have for any take home assignments. Most work will be kept in folders in the classroom.
